Writers and Authors do this one thing and improve your writing. Don't believe
me? Try this for 30 days and if it does not work then the universe will refund your misery.
Now if you happen to be an amazing person who completely accepts themselves and has no issues with liking them self and their creative writing. Then this blog is probably not for you, you should probably move on to the next blog and good luck to you.
However if you're like most of us, your biggest problem is your own thoughts and the feelings that those thoughts create and those thoughts don't always work for your best good.
Thinking and feeling good about yourself means that your writing will be getting the best creative work out of you that's possible!
It all boils down to, most folks don't feel that they are good enough, that there writing isn't good enough etc...

So where did this belief come from?
Let's step back a bit and look at this for a minute.

The Perfection of Babies
So what does this have to do with writing, you say?

How perfect you were when you were a tiny baby. Babies do not have to do anything, to become perfect. They already are perfect, and they act as if they know it. They know they are the center of the Universe. They are not afraid to ask for what they want. They freely express their emotions. You know when a baby is angry in fact, the whole neighborhood knows.
You also know when babies are happy, for their smiles light up the darkest room. They are full of love.

Once we get older however we progressively learn to live without love, but babies will not stand for it. Babies also love every part of their bodies, even their own feces. They have incredible courage and are fear free. You and I both once were, just like that. Then we began to listen to the adults around us and they taught us to fear things, and in many cases this was justified but in some very critical way's, it was not. Next we began to deny our own magnificence and the beauty of ourselves. These examples and training, led us to further doubt ourselves and led our thinking to where we are now. I think you get the point

Let's jump forward to what you can actually do, that will help you regain some of your magnificence, courage and simply loving yourself.

Exercise:
Try looking In the mirror and repeat these things, ( I know you've heard this before, but hear me out this really does work).
Make a point several times a day to look in the mirror, look into your eyes, and say,
"I love and accept myself exactly as I am right here, right now"
"I am a great writer and my writing deserves to be in front of many people"
"I have the patience and the perseverance to get my writing out to the world and I will be excepted"
Now, you're a writer make these your own and come up with a couple of new ones, that fit you best.

Wherever you feel resistance to positive ideas. Create a positive affirmation to combat your old thinking, your subconscious is a sponge and will except whatever you tell it. Start with just three and do them in front of the mirror. Do them several times a day, for 30 days. Later if you want, you can add more but for now stick with just three.
Many find this difficult, but go ahead and try it. Seldom do I see a calm reaction, let alone enjoyment from this exercise (at least at first), but forge ahead and you'll see what I mean.

The truth is if you make this a habit and do it for 30 days, you can change your thinking about yourself, your creative writing and overall your life.

No matter what the problem is, in your life and what your creative writing challenges are, your experiences are just outer effects of inner thoughts. Even self-hatred is only a hating thought you have about yourself. You have a thought that says, "I'm a bad person". This thought produces a feeling, and you buy into the feeling, via that thought.

So it's time to change the thoughts of yourself and your creative writing abilities.

The bottom line:
Writers and Authors do this one thing and your writing will improve!
Loving and approving of yourself, will help you to become a more focused, organized and authentic writer. It will create a space of safety thus making you more trusting, deserving and accepting of yourself. You will create in your mind, and in your life an overall feeling that will far surpass what you've been living with inside your own mind to date.

Like I always say:
"Be who you are and say what you feel...
Because those that matter... don't mind...
And those that mind... don't matter."
Take care of yourself and tune in next Monday as we continue to explore new ways of improving our self and our creative writing.
Bye for now and special thanks to Louise Hay for her inspiring book "You Can Heal Your Life". It's helped me transform mine and I highly recommend it
