Getting your book published using the law of abundance and prosperity
Getting your book published using the law of abundance and prosperity

This weeks blog takes us back to the very beginning of where every budding or established author needs to start their journey into getting that new idea for a book or short story published. You see just like life, it all boils down to YOU.
How you think about you're writing and ultimately yourself, is the starting place to catapult yourself into being the next award winning author.
Let's start with how many of these beliefs belong to you?
If you want the titled affirmation to be true for you, then you DO NOT want to believe any of the following statements and if you do, it's time to take an inside look at changing these thoughts you have:
  • I'm not good enough to make money at writing
  • I will never get my book published
  • Writers and artists have to struggle
  • I will never get a good publisher
  • Oh, I couldn't charge that much for my self published book
  • Money doesn't grow on trees
  • Money is filthy and dirty
  • Money is evil
  • I am poor, but clean (or good)
  • Rich people are crooks
  • I don't want to have money and be stuck up
  • Money goes out faster than it comes in
  • I am always in debt
  • My parents were poor, and I will be poor
  • Only people who cheat have money
  • I don't deserve abundance

Do you really think that believing any of these will bring you prosperity?
This is your old, limited thinking, working against you. Perhaps it was what your family believed about money, because family beliefs stay with us unless we consciously release them.

Wherever it came from, it must leave your consciousness if you want to prosper and become a successful writer.
To me, true prosperity begins with feeling good about yourself and about your writing. It is also the freedom to do what you want to do when you want to do it. It is never an amount of money; it is a state of mind. Prosperity or lack of it, is an outer expression of the ideas in your head.

Deserving
If we do not accept the idea that we deserve to prosper and get published as a successful writer, then even when abundance falls in our laps, we will refuse it or sabotage it somehow.

Here's an example:
From my earliest training & thoughts, I remember going to the grocery store as a kid. It was always an embarrassing experience. I was forced as the oldest child in our family to do most of the grocery shopping. We were very poor, and I remember looking through the aisles and shelves and hearing mom's voice in my head saying "buy the store brand products, they are cheaper". This was with no thought to what I might want.
Then there was moms statements to me "stick to my list and buy only what I tell you to get". This was all with no thought to taste or healthy foods for me to eat.
I also remember the embarrassing experience of going to the cashier and having to pay with food stamps, I felt like a second class citizen.
I remember those rare times when shopping with mom and looking at things I wanted and mom saying, "we can't afford that". It was always the cheapest item that she purchased with no thought of what I wanted to eat.

So keep this in mind whatever we concentrate on, in our mind increases
So don't concentrate on your bills or lack of money. Lack brings lack. Don't let thoughts like "I'll never be a published author" have a place in your mind or in your focus, no matter how many copies of you're newest book or short story you send out.
If you concentrate on lack and debt, then you will create more lack and debt.
There is an inexhaustible supply in the universe. Begin to be aware of it. Take the time to count the stars on a clear evening or the grains of sand on the beach or the rain drops it takes to make a rain storm.

What belief is limiting you?
Do you want to have money only to help others? Then you are saying you are worthless. Be sure you are not rejecting prosperity when you send out your next book or short story. If someone compliments your latest rough draft, don't think about all the things that you have yet to edit. Just say Thank You.
If a friend invites you to lunch or dinner, accept with joy and pleasure. Don't feel you are just "trading" with people. If you get a gift, accept it graciously.
If you can't use the gift, pass it on to someone else. Keep the flow of things moving through you. Just smile and say "Thank You." In this way you let the Universe know you are ready to receive your good.

Make a list of your current beliefs
Dig in and really focus on what shapes your current thinking now. Set up a journal for the next 30 day's. As you go through your daily routines make note in your journal as you become aware of the thoughts that are limiting you.

Change begins with awareness of the problem in the first place
After you catch a thought in your mind that's telling you your not good enough, make a note in your journal of the limiting thought.
Then come up with an affirmation that counteracts the limiting thought and write it down and put it where you'll see it and repeat it in your mind and vocally to yourself dozens of times a day. I know it sounds like a lot but, it's taken you a lifetime to accumulate your current thoughts.
Do you believe your writing is good enough for a publisher to actually read & accept it? Or do you feel like a school kid that is trying to sneak in his plagiarized project into his teacher?

Your security doesn't come from your ability to write, your job, your bank account, your investments or your spouse or parents. Your security is your ability to connect with the universal power that creates all things.

Visualization - There's an Ocean of Abundance:
Your prosperity consciousness is not dependent on money; your flow of money is dependent upon your prosperity consciousness

As you can conceive of more, more will come into your life
If you don't believe me just give it a try. It's said that a habit can be changed in 30 day's. I challenge you to try these things for 30 day's. Make canceling out your old limiting thoughts with a new affirmation something you do for 30 days and see what happens. What have you got to lose?

I want to share a powerful visualization that comes from a book by Louise Hay "You Can Heal Your Life".
"I love the visualization of standing at the seashore looking out at the vast ocean and knowing that this ocean is the abundance that is available to me. Look down at your hands and see what sort of container you are holding. Is it a teaspoon, a thimble with a hole in it, a paper cup, a glass, a tumbler, a pitcher, a bucket, a wash tub, or perhaps you have a pipeline connected to this ocean of abundance?
Look around you and notice that no matter how many people there are and no matter what kind of container they have, there is plenty for everyone. You cannot rob another, and they cannot rob you and in no way can you drain the ocean dry. Your container is your consciousness, and it can always be exchanged for a larger container."

Say to yourself here and now, "I am willing to change." "I am willing to release old negative beliefs that have kept my writing limited"
We want to release the "fixed income" mentality. Do not limit the Universe by insisting that you have "ONLY" a certain salary, income or writing ideas.
That income or source of ideas is a CHANNEL; IT IS NOT YOUR SOURCE.
Your supply comes from one source, the Universe itself.
There are an infinite number of channels. We must open ourselves to them. Those include your writing! We must accept in consciousness that ideas, supply and income can come from anywhere and everywhere.

Try a couple of these
affirmations:
"I am open and receptive to new avenues of ideas and income."
"I now receive my good from expected and unexpected sources."

Good luck in your writing and may you become the next top selling author.
